I thought I would talk today about Dressmaking Fabrics and there uses in everyday life. Quite often when you decide to make a dress or skirt you have planned to wear it for some sort of special occasion such as a wedding or party. But there is a lot more to dressmaking that just wearing items as a one off.
One of the best things about making your own clothes is that they are very unique and the chances of seeing someone else in the same dress are very slim. It is also very rewarding having somebody comment on your dress that you have made yourself.
Below I’m going to talk about a couple of fabrics that can be classed as Dressmaking Fabrics but are used in everyday life:
- Bi Stretch Fabrics: This fabric is ideal to use for trousers or even pants and has a slight stretch to it.
- Gabardine and Drill Fabrics: These make excellent work wear overalls or kitchen uniforms.
- Jersey Fabrics: These fabrics are one of our best sellers and can be used from T-Shirts throught to tight fitting ball gowns. A very versatile range of fabrics.
As you can see from todays blog I have tried to go down a slightly different route with Dressmaking Fabrics and show how they can be used everyday in all walks of like. I hope you have enjoyed this blog and if you have any thoughts or would like join in then please do feel free to leave a comment in the box below.
